Journey Justice Toward

By Jim Greenberg

Once you decide to pursue an online criminal justice program there are a few things you need to keep in mind. Some of these things are:

· Check for accreditation: Do research and read up on reviews about the various institutions offering this course. Find out more about the university you are enrolling in, its credentials and how long it has been in the business. Students can check Web sites of accrediting agencies, to see if a particular college is listed. There are also negative lists and you should check whether the college or university you are planning to go to does not belong to this negative list

· Course content & class schedules: Look at the classes offered and see if they meet your needs. Check the class schedules and determine if the classes you want are available at your convenience. See if the instructors will be accessible 24/7.

· Cost involved: Find about the costs involved and financial assistance, if any.

· Attempt a trial course: Most online criminal justice degree programs offer free demo courses, which will help you find out if the medium is right for you.

· Check the method of instruction: While some courses are completely media-driven, others have instructors at the back-end. It is always better to go for an instructor-led course so you can receive personal feedback.

· Verify technology issues: Find out if your computer can handle the technology required to go through an online criminal justice degree course.

· Get yourself some preliminary initiation: Do some reading on the subject and increase your knowledge. It is always a good idea to learn something on your own before you begin criminal justice classes.

· Talk to people: Ask the colleges to put you in touch with alumni and instructors to find out more about what online criminal justice degree learning is like.
